Tell Faye you will be in your chamber and wish to remain undisturbed. Dress comfortable with riding boots and meet me in the back of the garden.

Chloe quickly changed into a pale blue dress and instantly became frustrated when she couldnât button all the buttons in the back. Who on earth would make clothes that practically required another person to help you dress? How ridiculous! She was not happy with the shoes that he demanded she wear but thought she should obey him in this request since she had no idea what they would be doing. She tied her hair back with a wide ribbon she found in her room, one of many she just assumed was for that purpose and then made her way silently down the hall and up the stairs towards Brandonâs room. She knew he would not be there but she figured the easiest way to escape to the back garden un-noticed was to go out the back door of the billiard room. She knocked on his door gently just to make sure it was empty and hearing nothing, she opened the door and crept silently inside. She saw his dark brown pants from earlier lying carelessly across the bed and she couldnât help but run her fingers across them, smiling as she did. Silently she made her way down the stairway, out of the billiard room and down the back steps all without being noticed by the few members of the staff. She hurried her way through the garden until she was sure she was out of sight from the house. She wandered around the rose garden and past the fountain and was making her way toward the hedge maze when he stepped right in front of her seemingly out of nowhere.
âI see you found my note,â he said with a smile.
âYes, in the book I so carelessly left lying around, nice touch by the way,â Chloe replied playfully.
âI heard you in the hall and tried to think of something as quickly as I could. Did you tell Faye you would be in your chamber all day, and that you wish to be undisturbed?â
âYes. I told her I did not sleep well last night and just wanted to stay in and rest and read â¦â
âRead?â Brandon asked, shaking his head.
âYes, whatâs wrong with that?â
âThat is far from anything that Chloe would do. Nevertheless, it should keep her and anyone else from checking on you, that should give us the day at least,â Brandon tucked her hand around his arm and slowly began walking to the back of the garden, his fingers resting gently on hers.
âAnd just what are our plans today, Sir Brandon?â Chloe asked with a smile.
âSomething private where no one can interrupt us.â
Brandon led Chloe to a small opening in the back of the hedge wall and when they crossed through it there was a saddled horse waiting for them along with Benson who sat obediently wagging his tale.
âOh! This is Benson!â Chloe said with excitement and practically ran towards the dog.
